Clearing Your Cache
On occassion, you will experience issues with viewing your site. Maybe the toolbar is displaying incorrectly, the page is not fully loading, you are seeing an error message when you know the site is not down, etc. Most of the time, these issues can be resolved by clearing your browser's cache of temporary files and cookies. Here are the steps to clear the cache for the four most popular browsers:
Internet Explorer:
Click on Tools -> Internet Options -> Delete (under Browsing History). Check the boxes for Temporary Internet Files and Cookies. Click Delete.
| Note: If you have bookmarked your site, you will also need to make sure you uncheck Preserve Favorites website data or the temporary files specific to your site will not be removed. |
Mozilla Firefox:
Click Tools -> Clear Recent History (Clear Private Data for older versions). Check Cookies, Cache, and Active Logins. Click Clear Now (by default this only clears the history for the past hour but you can change it if necessary).
Safari:
Click on the picture of the gear in the top right corner. Choose Reset Safari and check Empty the cache, Remove all cookies and Close all Safari windows. Click Reset to complete the clearing.
Google Chrome:
Click on the picture of the wrench in the top right corner. Choose Tools -> Clear Browsing Data. Check Empty the cache and Delete cookies and other site data. If necessary, change Clear data from this period to Everything.
